Accountant / Bookkeeper
We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial transactions of the business. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of independently performing full-cycle accounting functions. The successful candidate must be proficient in the following:

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day financial and operational accounting activities of the company
  • Perform full-cycle accounting, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, invoicing, credit management, reconciliations, and payroll
  • Accounts Payable: Record vendor invoices, prepare biweekly AP reports, and process vendor payments
  • Accounts Receivable: Prepare and issue invoices, record payments, send payment receipts and monthly client statements, and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Purchasing: Prepare, send, track and receive purchase orders
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory records, enter items and pricing, upload data updates, and perform inventory reconciliations
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and resolve inventory variances
  • Complete monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations
  • Process payroll and complete month-end close activities
  • Prepare and submit Payroll, PST, GST, WCB, and CARM filings and remittances
  • Maintain organized accounting records and manage year-end file preparation
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required to support a small business operation

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of Canadian experience in full-cycle accounting within a small to medium-sized business
  • Ability to work independently in a hands-on role, managing responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid understanding of Canadian tax, payroll, and reporting requirements
  • High level of accountability and reliability
  • Experience with an ERP type accounting software is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookup …
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Wage: Negotiable, based on experience.
