Book or bookcase? The eclectic Raw Edges duo brings a fresh new take to the concept of the bookcase, a product that has always been a key part of the Lema ethos. Yael and Shay have kept books at the heart of this design, transforming them from simple objects into materials. A small, sleek freestanding bookcase, Booken is multi-functional and serves as a side table and shelf at the same time. The key element of the design is the frame, supported by geometric legs. Leaned to the frame, like bookmarks, are a number of wooden slats, which the books themselves are then hung on, transforming the bookcase from a vertical to a horizontal piece. Booken is also available as a shelf that can be mounted to the wall.
The essence of Booken is in the two parallel tracks supported by legs, geometrical and lightweight. On this structure rest several wooden slats that echo the classic form of the bookmark, moving parts on which you can literally hang books transform the library from vertical element to horizontal element.

LEMA was the first company in Italy to create custom modular systems for the furniture. This concept allowed Lema to create a complete range for the home that can be arranged according to personal taste and requirements. This is LEMA Casa, where design is free from restrictions and characterized by a lived-in atmosphere, thanks to the impeccable quality and elegance of the single pieces. These creations live in harmony, able to adapt freely and naturally in every home worldwide.
